I know you will be hovering on here and was keen to know what decibal readings you got at the clay pidgeon shoot the other week.
Tony brought a TES sound level meter home from work today...................
Spill the beans.

Morning matey,
Yeah, I thought it was around that figure. Tony reckons the reading he got was over 130 Db at 2,000 rpm, which I thiught sounded a bit high.
I dont think he has worked out how to use the thing, ah bless.
I will get him to try again.
Perhaps we could check with yours next week!!

No problems looking forward to it.

Must warn to though, size isn't everything!

I've been hearing that for years, and seeing the evidence.

You've definitely got some problem with the measurement if you're registering 130dB (either that or you'll shortly have a problem with your hearing, pain is noticable at 120dB, permanent damage at 140dB). Mine (S mk1) was 96dB (1/2 meter from the exhaust at 45 degree offset) at 4k5 revs a year or so ago. I'd guess this was a little low compared to others I've heard so would think somewhere around 98dB was pretty normal, though sports exhausts and decatting could probably give you another 3db each (which is actually a lot as a 3dB increase is approximately doubling the sound pressure). On this basis I believe a Tuscan could make roughly 105db, to get up to 130dB would be 250 time louder!

Maybe all the dirt deadened the sound?
