Is anyone aware the time a Tuscan S can do the 1/4 mile in?

Dependant on launch I'd probably predict a low 13 high 12...

anyone got any facts on this one?

Not sure how accurate this is (or why a Tuscan 'S' is labelled a Cosworth!), but it is fun

Had a quick chat at the workshop about this today, we're forecasting a 13.6 to 13.8 ...

Maybe quicker if you can get the launch right..

That sounds about right, the fastest cerberas are doing 12.3 / 118mph and a tuscan is slower so low 13s i would think .. makes it about 2 seconds faster than my V8S (15.1/90mph).

I did 13.1 at 112mph at Santapod on a damp track on a very cold day with a headwind. Loads of wheelspin.

Easily do a high 12 in better conditions. Others have report mid to high 12's on here in Tuscan RR/S's.

Have fun!

Are you sure it was damp? or did it look damp?

Santa Pod would be unlikely to allow people to run on a damp track, especially with the treatments that are put down on the track, add water to these and the track becomes like a skating rink...

yes, it had been raining that morning, it was the last RWYB of the year in October 2000. Not many cars then, maybe 20 at most.

I did a 13.3 in a standard 4.0 tuscan a couple of months ago. Quoted figure is 12.8. I aim to to a sub 13 at santa pod in a couple of weeks time.

A tuscan S should probably do a 12.5. Good luck!!!!!!
Happy

One theory of mine is that having some extra weight in the boot might help with traction off the line and hence improve quarter mile time (my thinking is more weight over rear tyres = less wheel spin, however, more weight = slower)

Any comments.....................

But that 12.3 was on a crap track

less weight the better. Try dropping your rear tyre pressures, I went down to 18psi, and the less wheelspin the better.

13.35 I recall , can't see why 12's are not possible in a Tuscan, most of the cars down here seem to be Tuscans and on normal roads they are as quick if not quicker than most cerbs I've come across, not counting Craigs .
My V8S did the same strip in 13.69secs @ 98mph and tbh was a little disappointed in the speed, speedo showed 110-115 and in car meter showed 109.5, could probably get the time down a tad to low 13's with a less lesurely gear change, not forgetting in the V8S I'm in 4th and a Tuscan will still be in third.

If a Noble does 0-100 in around the same time as a Tuscan and does 12.2 qtr I'd expect the Tuscan to be around the same, unless the customer cars aren't as quick as the press specials?

Perhaps it was a lot to do with conditions and the surface on the day, 30deg and crap unused airfield concrete surface, no need to get a factory special in .
Pretty certain an Ultima only managed 12.8 or so, although the Noble would have beat it on any given day .

Well it's not possible to easily calculate out a potential time accurately, but here's a rough go:

First column...... Elapsed Time (secs)
Second column.. Speed (mph)
Third Column.... Distance Travelled (miles)
Last Column...... Cumulative Distance (miles)

1.000 15.000 0.004 0.004
2.000 30.000 0.008 0.013
3.000 45.000 0.013 0.025
4.000 60.000 0.017 0.042
5.000 70.000 0.019 0.061
6.000 80.000 0.022 0.083
7.000 90.000 0.025 0.108
8.000 100.000 0.028 0.136
9.000 107.500 0.030 0.166
10.000 115.000 0.032 0.198
11.000 122.500 0.034 0.232
11.526 126.447 0.018 0.250

Not talking about any particilar day, just a best possible time, the calculator above seems to think sub 12 would be possible in ideal conditions...

That calculator works really well for cerberas .. the tuned ones are 380/390bhp, and it gave about 12.2/12.3 116/118 mph depending what figures you put in .. exactly right

I thought your car was 270bhp ish harry? in which cased you're miles out on your driving or it's not as powerful as you've been told ..

Power at Flywheel (BHP) : 270
Weight without Driver (KG) : 1080
Power to Weight Ratio (BHP Per Ton) : 254.01
0 - 60 (Secs) : 4.57
0 - 100 (Secs) : 11.12
60 - 100 (Secs) : 6.55
Quarter Mile (Secs) : 12.90
Terminal Speed (MPH) : 107.71
Drag Strip Quarter Mile (Secs) : 12.80
Drag Strip Terminal Speed (MPH) : 108.96
