Does anyone suffer from an annoying pulley squeak from the front of the engine? Its driving me mad..
Suggestions for cure pls...(tried wd40 and a more expensive graphite spray lubricant).

Are you sure it's not the timing chain?

Suspect its a slipping belt on the alternator/air con etc - will go / change pitch when you rev the engine.
WD40 is not really the way to go, as the belt should not slip and needs to grip in order to run the alternator.
Get the dealer to check/tighten it up.

The surface of the vee belt that runs in the pulley vee gets polished and thats what makes the squeeking noise. (a loose belt will squeal when the revs rise)Remove the belt, sand the surface to roughen it up and refit it. A liberale dosing of TALC.....yep the stuff some folk use after a bath or shower will also help. Ultimately its best to replace the belt.

Ive just been out in it to show my mate and it didnt do it from startup...it was after a bit of a run that I let it stand for a bit .. when i started her up again away she went for about 2 mins. The noise is while idleing not under acceleration.

I know the noise!

I have had it since I got the car. The dealer and another person has looked at it.

The dealer says that it is not unusual with Tuscans, and that quite a lot have this noise. Its not a slippying belt etc. The noise is there on idle, perhaps once evry 10 seconds. But you cant hear it when driving, nor does it effect the cars performance.

I have notice on or two others with the same noise.

Or the garage could be just lying. But mines been fine
