Hi all, I am new to this forum and new to the joys of owning a TVR and I love it. I have had the Beast nicknamed "Heath" an Anthracite Grey Tuscan S for one month and I wish I could say it has been trouble free.

This is my first month and it has just had a trip to a recommended dealer for warranty work and I am shocked. I compiled an accurate list of all the problems and the car has come back with some fixed badly, others that haven't even been touched and some extra damage. Is this normal??

This has got me asking the question? I live in the Thames Valley where numerous independant specialists are based. Will servicing at these companies (smaller more service orientated) effect my resale value?.

Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated.

Non-dealer servicing may limit your resale potential - a lot of (generally less au-fait with TVR) people will steer towards cars that have a dealer history. Personally, I'd go for the best of both worlds - get stamps every 6k from a main dealer, then find a decent Indy to do EVERYTHING but change the oil & filters (including all items flagged at service time).

There is a SUPERB indie Tuscan race team just outside Aylesbury called TopCats. I use them to service and prepare my 2000 Tusc.
Highly recommended. 01296 655109.

If your car is new I wouldn't go anywhere but to a franchised dealer. Also as well as the "people generally less au-fait with TVR" you will find that if you come to P/X the car the dealers themselves will mark down a car that does not have main dealer stamps in the service book.

If your dealer is crap I would find another one who isn't.

My personal opinion is use dealers only, or TVR Power

Mine had full dealer service history and sold in 3 weeks for full asking price ....

Happy man !! :O)
