I have been offered a close ratio gear set that for the T5 box, is this worth buying (quite cheap) and the effort of fitting? If I go ahead with this I would proberbly do the slave seals and replace the clutch as she is on 22K with the original.

I had the standard gearbox on my Tuscan and the CR on my Tamora Red Rose. I personally find the CR much easier and friendly to live with - especially when driving at lower speeds or in traffic.

I'd say "go for it", at 22k you've just about used up your slave cylinder seals good-will period.

thanks chaps, was already 90% convinced myself. Now I need to remove the gearbox, strip it and replace the gears. I may also replace the selectors.
Busy weekend coming up then.
