Cars 2nd birthday is looming (1st Sept)and with its coming of age the expiry of its engine warranty, so with safety in mind of to H,H,C. for a cam and followers check and adj. Spent the day shopping :weeping: in Harrogate half expecting to be coming home in a taxi with tuscan on a trailer on route to Blackpool but at TVR's expense!! Phone call comes in 4.30, Car is ready for collection, followers are spot on, no adj was required, the harsh noise that i had concern about was from the timing chains which were adjusted.
total bill(excluding shopping) £190 inc lazer allignment check on cambers and tracking which has definately improved handling. All said a good result all round..... Or is it???????

Yeh, i know. Should've posted on S6 engine site but i daren't go on there anymore, it scares me :yikes:

I also don't look at the Speed 6 Engine forum these days and as a result soundly at night. Coincidentally, have also stopped hearing strange new metallic noises ever time I start the car up.

I do know what to look/listen out for, I do all the correct warming up procedures and I have the car serviced regularly by my TVR dealer.
If it does go bang - c'est la vie but at least I haven't worried myself sick about it.
My enjoyment of the car has increased dramatically.

Your right about the SP6 forum, same recycled trolling day after day. HOWEVER, has any one noticed the used Tuscan resale price troll that has started appearing here........ watch this space!!!

The name it appears as when you post is stored on your PC (in a cookie) when you first log in. If you change your profile name, you'll need to log out then back in again with the new name (on all PCs you use that that's stored on with the "remember me" option) for it to all sort itself out.

Hope that helps...

Thks JSG.
This hadn't realised that each computer has its own cookie stored for sign-in.
Off abroad on biz again this weekend. I will be carrying:-
1. Laptop c/w charger and leads.
2. Blackberry c/w with charger.
3. Mobile phone c/w with charger.
4. Digital camera c/w charger.
5. TomTom sat-nav c/w leads/charger.
Jeez - it's not easy being an oldie and trying to keep up with technology.

Can't you just use the Crackberry as the phone? And get a load of USB chargers? Or get TomTom for the phone/MapPoint for the laptop? Sorry - know your problem; off to the States in a week and trying to play gadget-tetris with a hand-luggage bag isn't easy.

Would love to use the Raspberry as phone but our IT pillocks signed up a stupid airtime deal and now we can't migrate my 10 year old and very well known mobile phone number to the Raspberry.
Checking the USB charging ideas too but hell, corporate travel sure ain't getting any easier with all these gadgets and all the increased security.
Wish I was playing Tuscans this weekend instead of driving a rented Eurobox.
Travel well to the States.

yep a gallon still half price to what we pay. with reference to gadgets just make sure you can get your laptop out the bag easily as they have to go through the detectors seperate to everything else and they also seem to be getting quite picky about carryon bag weight, laptop bag got weighed last time and was made to take one out luckily collegue carried it through.

Agree - had to do the laptop equivalent of stripping a rifle once last year - batteries, CD drives, everything, along with pulling apart every other gadget.

Hint: Don't go through US customs with a passport with a dozen North African and Middle Eastern stamps and visas in it and expect an easy time!
