Sorry chaps - search is down Toyo T1-S or T1-R?!?!
Discussion
Ok - I'm confused...
I've found T1-S, (which is on my car all round), T1-S (TVR fitment - whatever the heck that is!) and T1-R (re-inforced.
The S's I've found are £184.46 fitted, the T1-S are £171.67 fitted and the T1-R (reinforced)£16
Can someone tell me the differences between the 3 and whether the pricing is on the spot or way out!?!?
Thanks!
Lee

As said, the T1-R is Toyo's replacement for the T1-S. I have T1-R on the Tuscan and recently switched from T1-R to T1-S on my Saab 9-5, because I could not get the T1-S.
My major comment on the difference - due to experience in the Saab, is that the T1-R is a much firmer ride. They are a fine tyre, but IMHO I would recommend going for the Goodyear Eagles instead for the Tuscan so as not to precipitate a jiggly ride. If you can get the T1-S in the right sizes still, then fine.
IIRC the T1-S came in different shades i.e. they did one for Porsche, but you really don't want those on a Tuscan. The new T1-R is probably similar to that with respect to these reinforced side walls. Great for longevity, not so great for driving.

The T1-S has the 'flared' tread pattern going to the edge of the tyre. The replacement the T1-R has a 2-3 cm band change in tread pattern at the edges. This is apparently to prevent scrubbing and undue wear when cornering at speeds as well as providing better grip.
If you can wait until tonight, I can post pictures of both the T1-S and the T1-Rs so you can see the difference. I have S's on the FTO and we have Rs on the Griffith - having previously had Goodyear F1s.
General view is the Toyos have been better but took about 500 miles to bed in - although both cars had laser alignment done at the same time.
I believe that Toyo were working in partnership with the TVR Factory to provide a special TVR tyre. Don't think the new TVRs are fitted with Toyos anymore - can't remember where I heard this.

Perhaps from my post above?

Sorry - forgot to add, we got our tyres from these chaps

Based in Maldon, Essex. Excellent bunch of guys who are really knowledgeable and well worth paying the £80 or so for the Laser alignment. Think we paid a tad over £100 for each corner for the Griffith. Might be worth phoning for a quote.

Not heard that particular comment before. However, I have heard that the Goodyears are exceptional at 'going where they are pointed' (sorry, don't recall all the technical names I was told for this - something rotational stability!). If I was coming up to replacement, I think I would give the Goodyears the edge over the Toyos, especially the T1-R (ride quality in the big heavy Saab is not so good as before - feel bumps more).
