I have a 2002 Tuscan S. Every now and then the outer speedo goes bananas and sometimes the inner LCD speed display stops working. I've had all the sensors cleaned etc and we now think that there is an electical gremlin in the dash - possibly loose wire etc.

Anyone know who is best to deal with this? Local dealer such as Fernies or Racing Green or better to get it to the factory?

I concur. From memory should be about £70. Most dealers would have done the repair many times, so I would have thought they would be the best bet.

I just got mine back from having mine fixed, they said they have fitted all new parts. 2 MILES down the road it speedo has stopped again. It is getting on my tits now, this is the THIRD fix.

Had exactly the same on the Tam going to BNG, had a look Monday night cleaned up the sensor etc still the same. Traced the wiring from the sensor into the boot (under the carpet) and low and behold there is an electrical connector that had not been pushed fully home.

With the ignition on (engine not running) just moving this connector and speedo was doing 226 MPH.

Pushed fully home (touch wood) now back to normal.

Maybe in a different place on the tuscan but it is a light grey cable with a Black, Blue and green wire in worth having a look.

When I had a Tuscan S mk1 I went through 3 or it might have been 4 lambda sensors. Somebody at the factory (who will be nameless) muttered faulty batch. I never paid for any of them. However, on my S Mk2 no problems in the first 6000 miles and checking the indicated speed on the pod (when you can read it) against my Road Angel it's surprisingly near accurate.
