Hi guys,

I don't think my alternator is charging correctly (by the fact that the battery was flat the other day after a half hour run!).

I cleaned it up today (it's a Land Rover A127IM model) and now I get an output voltage of 13.4v, with a running voltage on the Tuscan of 12.4v.

Are these typical values?

Cheers

12.4 is about right for the battery voltage when the engine is stopped. 13.4 is what you should see with the engine running. If you still get 12.4 engine running i.e. no increase then presumably the alternator isn't connected to the battery, possible failed fusible link?

Thanks a lot. That fuse, is it the one that is between the alternator and the starter solenoid in a small black case?

Cheers
