Just got back from my hols in my 2000 Tuscan along with a friend in his 95 Griff. Drove down through the French Alps to Monaco and back through the Alps, covering 2185 miles, the engine on both cars never missed a beat and I only put in 1ltre of oil. We caused a stir where ever we went, best outside the Casino in Monaco where the crowds were only intersted in the TVR and not the Ferrari and Lambo parked there. Did get moved on by the police because of the attention. Got some great pictures along some fantastic mountain passes. If you haven't taken your car to France then put it on your must do list. They love them!!

Done it twice now. Can't recommend it highly enough!

Best lap time is 7'13" on the full circuit Fully sideways round Mirabeau. Final lap was a 9'35" with a quick stop in Casino Square to chat to a Gendarme about why I had a huge camera hanging off the side of my car and the fact that I'd driven past him 12 times in the last hour so

Can't tell you exactly where I stayed as we just stopped when we felt like it. We weren't fussy as long as they had beds and a shower!

My last route was...

Calais - Dijon
Dijon - Grenoble
Grenoble - Cannes (Route Napoleon)
Cannes to Monaco
Monaco to Milan
Milan to Stelvio Pass
Stelvio Pass to St Gotthard & Furka Passes
Past Lake Geneva on the North side on the way to Dijon
Dijon - Le Touquet
Le Touquet - Calais

About 2,500 miles. 5 driving days.

Route Napoleon and the Swiss passes are the highlights. Do what you have to but don't miss those out!!

Hi gang, done a similar route myself this summer. Your times are good Gruffy! I was on a hot lap but got the sightseeing train up hill and stood no chance. Look at this post for route: www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=209062&f=8&h=0
There was an F355 charging 40 euro for a tour of the circuit. It looked like the driver would give me 100 to drive the chim

Yeah, the hill is always the slowest sector. As soon as you cross the start-finish line it goes all M25. Then you have to hit the pit lane limiter through Casino Square otherwise you get stop-go penalties. Always slow down on the next downhill section, that way you get a good clear run into Mirabeau.

I've got all my laps on DV including the stop-go penalty. The camera was on the door pointing into the car and filmed the marshall giving me a boIIocking. When I get some time I'll eventually get round to editing/posting it.
