My Tuscan is feeling a bit sorry for itself - I haven't used it for a while because the last time I did, it spat out all the power steering fluid leaving me with no PAS

(and over the winter a bunch of electrical gremlins appeared that resulted in me removing a bunch of fuses to keep it quiet - Over the weekend, I've restored all the fuses and discovered that she still runs (reasonably happily apart from the lack of PAS) )

My guess is that it's likely the rack / gaiters / seals etc that have gone and that it probably needs a steering rack refurb which seems to be a common enough thing.

Does anyone know how involved this job is? - Something in my dim and distant memory keeps telling me that I've read somewhere that it is a pig to do and therefore expensive.

Kiley Clinton quoted me £466 + vat for a full rebuild with added DU bush and new end nut.

I think the parts are £250+ to do it all yourself.

Another recommedation for Kiley Clinton - whilst I've not needed my Tuscan one doing, I did get them to recondition a Chimaera rack I had.

Thanks - Maybe it's not as bad as I first thought then. I think I'm going to get it booked in somewhere to get it done.
