Fog Light Switch
Discussion
Just a quick and seemingly stupid question that I'm sure someone will answer. The fog light switch on the dash of a year 2000 tuscan, should it glow when the lights are on?
My reason being, i can use the fog switch to command the dash pod changes, but the foglights dont come on, I've only had the car for 72hrs and haven't quite discovered all the quirks.
Are there any checks to go through to see if the prob is just a bulb failure or something a little more difficult.
Mike

Dunno about getting to the light source behind the switch - but I think if it was the fuse that was the problem, you would find most of not all of your dash lights to be out.
Did you have the headlights switched on when you tried the fog switch (i.e. not just sidelights)? (Probably a bit of a lame question - but we have to rule these things out!)
The 'ring' of light around the fog switch glows red IIRC, but like I said, its pretty dim and you have to look quite closely in daylight to see the difference between on and off! I think it cancels if you turn the headlights off and then back on again - so little danger of being one of those muppets who has a foglight on for 5 days after it was last foggy! (I wish more cars were wired up in this way).
Congratulations on the purchase by the way - take it easy on cold-damp roads.

The light behind the fog light switch does come on unfortunately, so looks like a meter job and trace from there. I presume all the relays and fuses are under the bolt down section of the bonnet? Great chance to change the bulbs for something a little white'r and brighter! Thanks for the advice and I will be careful waiting for the sun to burn through now!

The fuse and relay box (in my 2001) is next to your right knee when in the car, facing downwards. I find the best way to get at it is to stick a torch in your mouth, open the driver's side door and enter the car with your back to the floor, head under the dash and feet sticking out - it hurts a bit!
Hope that helps, and I haven't added more "fog" to the problem
