Hey everyone

My speed six engine had issues at the start of summer and I ended up having to have it stripped down and rebuilt.

I have tried to get hold of a Speed Six bible, but to no avail.

Could someone help me out with the torque requirements beyond the cylinder head bolt torque method which is readily available online.

Of course, a bible itself would be great - did I read somewhere that TVR Club UK has a digital copy accessible by members? I am a member of the German club, but maybe it is worth joining the UK one for the access?

Any tips/advice would be great.

Thanks

I joined the club for that reason when I started the rebuild on my car but I've probably saved the fee with parts discount at Motaclan.

This guy has been doing his own rebuild and Dom at Powers Performance has helped him with info. Might be worth messaging him.

I've also completed a Speed Six build. These are the torque figures Dom at Powers gave me..

Head Bolts 80 ftlbs
Main Caps 60 ftlbs
Big Ends 40 ftlbs
Cam Caps 16 ftlbs
Front Pulley bolt 115 ftlbs
Aux shaft 70 ftlbs
8mm bolts 16 ftlbs
Cam Sprocket 25 ftlbs

Hope this helps, it did me!

Great info from you both, thanks!

I did also manage to chat with a chap over here who has the bible and he confirmed a slew of the torque values for me.

Let's see what my mechanic makes of it all.

Can't wait for the beast to be back on the road!

Ha,

now we are looking for information around the chains. Tensioning, sorting out timing (the sprockets on the cams seem to have "play"?).

Apparently these are topics that the specialists keep very close to their chests.... but I can't bring my engine to the UK, it is partially assembled already by someone else.

Tips, guides, etc. are appreciated. PM if anyone prefers to keep this "unpublished"
