How much Oil

Just wondered if anyone new how much oil it takes to go from the min to max markers on the ol' dipstick.

Got a MK1 Tuscan S

Just getting a bit jittery as I think she is starting to use some oil......:eek: - so I'm gonna start keepng a log. :idea:

...about 1 litre IIRC. That's top to bottom (if you can get sensible readings ) 6 litre, total.

Depending upon what you're using the consumption can vary quite a lot without being a problem.

Somewhere between 500-1000 miles on a litre of the watery stuff (Mobil 1) isn't necessarily a problem, I believe.

Course, if you're seeing a sudden change you may want to take careful note.

(And don't forget that a little too much oil when you fill up won't be a problem, obviously too little will!!)
