Hi everyone,
I've been lurking on this forum since July picking up a wealth of information from you luvlies.
My quest has been for a Tuscan.
I first saw one at a dealers in 2000. I think my jaw hit the floor!

Earlier this year I decided it was about time for a toy. The last time I owned anything remotely interesting was way back in the early 80's MGB V8 & Lotus 2+2 S130.

Nothing I looked at really grabbed me. I hadn't considered a TVR, I thought they would be out of my reach. It was almost by accident that I found myserlf on the TVR website, my partner saw the Tuscan. Her reactiion to it was the same as mine the first time I saw one.
"Wow I like that!"
The hunt was on!!

A few months & a few cars later & I found what we were looking for.........2001, The right colour, light interior, service history, rebuild in June this year, (still under warranty new clutch air con etc, all my boxes were ticked I had the car checked over by a TVR dealer & a few things that needed to be dealt with were pointed out to me, nothing serious & so I decided to buy it & I parted with a substantial pile of Wonga!!

I'm still getting used to "the beast" although she's very docile if stroked gently

I've done about 1000 miles in the month of ownership & it's true, you don't stop grinning.

I took it to Fernies for the 30k service last week & guess what, all valve clearances are ok, 6 thou on inlet & 12 thou on exhaust except for number 8......23 thou The case hardening on the follower has failed......you know the rest!

Spoke to those very nice people at Blackpool & they have confirmed that the engine is still under warranty (phew!!)

Delivered the car to those nice boys at Racing Green this morning for them to check & confirm their findings with Blackpool.

The car had only done 3k since the rebuild, maybe the previous owner had knocked the hell out of it having decided to sell, who knows?
I am disappointed about this, obviously, but have to remain pragmatic, it's winter so my use of the car would be restricted anyway.
I should get it back Jan/Feb so by the time it's run in, Spring will be here & my big grin will return.
I hope to meet up with some of you in 2006.
You really do seem a nice bunch, I feel as if I know some of you already (Hi Tony T88CAN)

Drive safely

C&C, big welcome to the fold.

Sorry to hear you got problems already, glad to hear it's still under warranty.

Brought mine from Fernies back in April, and the grins still with me.

Might see you up at Fernies one day, when we can swop notes.

...and in the red corner:

Just to keep the balance, I thought I'd wade in from the blue corner!

Well done, that man!

Well done, for "coming out" - no point in lurking!

Well done on choice of chariot!

Well done on a mighty calm attitude under the influence of rather heavy enemy fire!

Your pragmatism will, I have every faith, reward you. Like you I hardly dreamt of owning a Tuscan. I got bitten by the TVR-bug just about five years ago and..., well, once you've been bitten!!!!!
