Possibly going to buy myself a a nice Xmas prezzie!
Discussion
Hi all,
Been lurking on the TVR forums for the past 10 months trying to learn all I can about the Tuscan prior to hopefully getting one myself.....
I think I may have found one, its a 2000 (x - reg)in Viper Blue with portland and blue interior. Its done 26000 miles, had a rebuild in 2004 and a new clutch recently, full TVRSH etc.
Just a few questions though!!!
Is this the right kind average mileage for a late 2000??
The rebuild was in 2004 - Is it generally accepted the people who had rebuilds 2004 and on have been ok since??? (Rebuild was at 18000, now at 26000)
I do intend to get it taken to TVR (Hopefully Power)prior to buying, get it inspected and get a warranty.
Thanks for any help and hope to meet some of you at some meets (If this all goes well!!!)
Mark

Welcome.
26k miles for a 5 year old car, is about right, although some may only do 2.5-3k per year, some a lot more, a lot depends on if it's your only car or not, and how much it comes out in the winter.
As for the generally accepted rule on post 2004 re-builds, not necessarily the case, I know there have been some go pop after this, but finger's crossed, subject to competent servicing/warming up etc, you should be ok ?!, but there will always be exceptions.
The major major major rule, get it fully inspected, and any warranty will be a bonus.
Happy motoring.

Mark if you are taking the car to Power for Inspection, you could ask them about there new warranty. There are one or two articles on here about it. I think it was only launched this week.
Good to hear there are a number of people looking at buying TVR's at this time of year when the weather is truly yuk.
