At last, after 19 weeks and 6 days (not that I was counting you understand!), I've got my Tuscan back - good as new

Got to say a HUGE thank you to Paul, Alex, Chris and everyone else at Austec for doing such a Stirling job - it really looks and drives superbly.
....not that the roads and weather are condusive to 'enjoyable' motoring at the moment

[sarcastic mode]Also, a slightly smaller thank you to TVR, for delivering all the required parts so promptly and accurately! [/sarcastic mode]

Now then, I've got a fair bit of catching up to do, so.....when's the next Essex meet and Surrey Rolling Road session......

BTW, just worked out that I saved approx. £1000 in fuel alone, so even after paying out for the insurance excess, I'm still quids in

Fantastic news Neill - really, really glad you waited it out with the old girl rather than writing her off. Could've seen the financial benefits of the alternative, but it'd have broken my heart given the effort that went into keeping her tip-top.

Only advice I can give you right now beyond getting a fix for the withdrawal symptoms is:
* treat the clutch, gearbox, and engine well for a bit - they've been sat around a loooooong time
* practice losing the back-end in a straight line working down from (probably) 3rd gear - the roads are bl**dy slippy at the mo, and you've not had the luxury of the gradual degradation of them over the last couple of months. You should easily be able to lose traction at legal(ish) speeds in 3rd at the mo... best to find where that point is now than when you're not expecting it.

Anyway... enjoy bud, you've earned a serious dose of fun!

Cheers James

She's just WAY too special to replace!
Points well noted about mechanical sympathy, needless to say I'll be taking it easy for a fair bit!!

Not sure about practicing 'losing it' though - if I can find a BIG empty airfield perhaps, but I'm not ready for 'that' feeling again just yet !!!

Trackday methinks!
