Permission to whinge.............

Just picked my car up from my 'local' main TVR dealer with a shiny new gearbox fitted (munched 5th gear 3 weeks ago).......and......on the way home, engaging 1st gear seems to get harder...........and harder..............then oooooh suit you sirrrrrrrrr.............. cannot get any f##########ing gears......no fluid under car...........clutch pedal feels soft.....clutch fluid reservoir almost full.........

Someone tell me this isn't going to be yet another 4 figure bill looming...............

Before I call the AA homestart tomorrow, can anyone tell me if its easy to bleed the system to see if cures the problem...

Its flipping chrimbo in a couple of weeks.......not fair.......

Yeah, my thoughts entirely; I asked them to specifically look at the condition of the clutch; was assured it looked absolutely fine....... I am ever so slightly p#ssed, that's for sure; I wanted to save on the labour and all.............

It's not something stupid like the lever and gaiter not lining up?

Heard of this before - check the alignment of the gaiter - it might be physically stopping the lever from getting 'home'.

Hope it is something simple and not expensive for you!

if you can select the gears ok without the enging running it could be fractured clutch fingers.

I wouldn't even put my foot on the pedal.

It was in the authorised dealer's, you specifically asked them to check the thing, they specifically performed the service ..... it's down to them !

The only thing you have to check is your solicitor's telephone number !

Oh, and which dealer performed this wonderful service (I want to ensure that they do the next service on mine)

Very bizarre - I had it the other way around - Clutch was Donald Ducked - had that fixed (circa £1100) drove it out of the dealership and 32 miles later - no 5th gear and lots of teeth in the bottom of my gearbox.... Alas - "That'll be another £900 sir"

I think I may have made Racing Green TVR's Christmas though...

Don't we love our cars though - even if they have been in the garage for 2 out of the 6 months that we've had the thing?!?!?

Lee,

How bizarre!!!!!!!!!!!

Must admit, Martin (at RG) did tell me some other unlucky sod had done the same but in reverse............... hey ho.........expensive month.......good chrimbo for them though!!!!!!!!!!!

Car all fixed now..........(only waited 3 days for the clutch / slave / flywheel to be changed though, so pretty quick.....)
