Good Morning,

Having just had the car back from another trip to the dealers, the little bugger has developed some interesting electrical faults.???
When you press the button to open the passenger side door(inside or out), the window winds down to the required position waits a couple of seconds, and then releases the latch at which point the window begins to go down even further into the door.
The other problem is the heater and fan controls, it seems as if the power to the controls and the fan itself are coming on off intermittently, they'll come on i.e the control indication led's will light up for a while then go off then come on with no real pattern, sometimes staying on or off for quite a while.

Obviously the dealers are not responsible as this was not looked at by them??

Any thoughts would be great thanks

The window problem will be the encoder that is fitted behind the door card, this can happen when they get damp. They are quiet cheap/easy to replace.

The fan controls could be a bad/damaged connector on the heater ECU which is behind the dashboard on the passenger side.

My window sometimes does this if parked out in rain for a few days without being used. It usually clears itself once used and dried out.

i have had the same problem with the fan and heater lights. They were occasionally coming on, even if the key wasn't in the ignition.

They are now not working at all now, so its at the garage being fixed at the moment (along with a couple of other faults). I think its a faulty connection, but i will know more when i collect the vehicle, hopefully tomorrow.

On my T2 the windows used to sometimes go all the way down when you opened the door and sometimes would close automatically when you closed the door, even if they were fully down before hand. New ECU sorted it.
