Haya! My heater packed in early last year, and before it did, it was displaying exactly the same symptoms as you describe. Mine was a main ECU fault (!!), but I have a Tamora, so am not sure if the same system is used on the Tuscan.

Firstly welcome to Tuscan ownership. Its a great experience and there is a good dollop of experience to draw on here.

My heater is a bit eccentric. I find that it will not change the heat setting until I alter the fan - once everything is running. I usually leave the heat setting at low and the fan on to the setting I want until the water temp is up to 75 ish. I then increase the temp to the desired setting and adjust the fan a bit. There is usually a thud and I get hot air.

Yours may have the same characteristics - but they are all different !

The thud located somewhere behind the co pilots instrument panel.

I've had the same sort of problem, cold air when stationary then the hot kicks in when on the move.

I keep the silly water top up bottle filled to the brim...Job done warm as toast.

Same here - have to turn the fan on and off a couple of times, then the thud, then some warm air shortly thereafter. Only weird thing - cold air only blows through the chest/pod vents, no warm as this appears specific to the dash!

If you don't get the "thud" then some kind of servo/flap thing might be broken, which is a hollow tooth job because it's under the engine or something. I waited through November & December to have mine fixed with the next service rather than specially (to keep the labour rates down) and I can tell you that I am roasting now ! Very efficient (except for the footwells which don't get much better whatever you do).

Welcome to Tuscans !

Cheers for the replys, I cant say that I have heard this "thud" but then again Im still listing to the fantastic note from the zorst.
Howerver when having a butchers for the heater E.C.U. under the N/S dash it kind of dropped off,and after inspection it was only held in place by a couple of bits of double sided tape ! ! ! I think the prev owner might of had the same trouble. Anyway soon be summer. Im getting a bit Pi$$ed off with the weather at the min, since I picked her up I aint been out on a dry road.

The 2 things I always do as soon as I am about to move off after warming my lovely up, is
1, Twist the fan speed controller forwards and backwards.
1a,Carry out the same function on the temperature control knob, " They both stick".
2. Look behind YOU before pulling out.
2a, Check what's in front of you then hit the Warp speed control pedal.

Easy when you know how, and only takes a second or 2.

Best regards,

James Sim.
