Quick question fellas - how much would it cost for a stone-chipped front end respray?

Paint is metalic, but not reflex, chipped on front grill, and around the bottom of the lights. Main bonnet and wings ok.

Cheers for your help in advance

Worth asking if the sprayer will also use the anti-stone chip undercoat the Factory now uses, my new car is much more resistant to stone chips than the old one - touch wood.

Bugger I thought it was a fair bit. I've been quoted £1050 +Vat, although it seems a lot if the wings and main bonnet is ok.

Worse thing is, the front end was imaculate this time last year - too many European trips at speed and not armourfend! Lesson learnt!

If you don't need the main bonnet and wings painted, and your car is a colour that will blend in ok, then I would have thought that £450-500 would be about right. Just get along to a couple of paintshops and let them quote. It sounds like stonechip damage only, so no fibreglass repairs? Hope that this helps. Best regards, Tony

HHC Harrogate did a rear wing for me (after I scratched it with the roof ) for about £200 if that helps at all.

Cheers fella's - the damage is only stone chips so I was expencting about £500 for a good job.

I had a good chat with HHC although the quote was out of my price range.

I'll have a scout around for some garage's in Yorkshire. Any recommendations would be most welcome!

hi, any good painter should be able to sort out your stone chips quite easily, its either fill the chips with stopper or filler and wet and dry them down and then prep the rest up to the fade out unless they paint edge to .ie to the end of the wing/door which is not alot more work than fading the paint out along the wing, the other way is to sand the chips out but this can leave sunken marks where sanded if not done properly,as yours is a metallic paint you have your base coat(colour)and laquer(top coat/clear coat}so its a bit more expensive than a solid/straight colour but i would like to think that you could get it done for £400 max if you can find someone who is recommended, the only problem is they will think you are loaded so maybe its a matter of who you know not what!material wise ur looking at about £80 max from brown bros or ae motor colours so you can work out the labour charges from that.

oh and yes im a paint sprayer and i would love to do it if... i only had the facilities, i put a new front end on a chimera a few years ago from which i was determined to get a tvr.

i know some good lads in york but it depends how far you want to take it,

good look,kev.
