woooooooo hoooooooo!!

at last............just put the deposit on a tuscan 2.
got the silly smile thing going on and i cant wait to pick it up

just the little subject of insuring my new baby, i have been on all the sites and had about 117 quotes, did i say about!! i meant exactly!
some of them from duplicate places and sites, all curiously with diferent results despite the fact that all the info was the same, maybe its just how someones feeling at the time (or got some the night before! ;-))
well, that someone obviously got more than just 'some' bloody loads i recon,
the quote i managed to get from bell direct (0800 140 180) was.................................. £684.60 !!!!!
now, having quotes upwards of 1600 quid, i thought this was more than reasonable, 1 claim (some thieving little bstad stole my fto, grrrrrrrr) age 33 with full ncb.
not bad eh!?

ill keep you posted with some pics of the new baby soon

keep smiling.

Great news - another Tuscan in Kent.
Which part of the county are you in?
If you can, try to make the TVR car club SELondon/NW Kent meeting tonight. They are a great bunch of guys - not too many anoraks(Nick just looks like this) in sight.

Forget to say - just renewed my Tuscan insurance - this time with Sunninghill (Chaucer) at £450 (good bit order than 33 though!!!). If you haven't already, give them a try on 0870 787 8022 - speak to Malcolm. Very helpful.

Sunninghill came in at £725 this time against £477 Privelige. (Actually £429 without protected NCB which is like for like).

I've been with Sunninghill for 3 years and like them very much but thats too much diff to ignore.

AARON! Whats this b2tus guy got that I haven't got!

Stu - next regional TVR club run is on Sunday 5 Feb. Normally the evening meets are on the 3rd Monday of each month at The Rose & Crown, Dunton Green (Sevenoaks way) and the runs are on the first Sunday in each month, normally starting from the Rose & Crown
Suggest you join the TVR Club as the monthly magazine is the best car club mag I have seen. Well worth the money.
Our region (SELondon/NW Kent) is one of the best supported and our Regional Organiser Nick Smith arranges a full programme of events through the year including go-kart racing.
If you have a TVR and live in Kent, it's a must. Quite a few Tuscans attend the meetings so advice is always available.

Hey - this sounds good - I've just ordered a Tuscan, and I live in SE London, so could easily venture out to Sevenoaks. Also just joined the TVRCC, so will check details in there... The new car arrives in early March (hopefully), and I'll be desperate to show it off (but hoping I won't need any advice on broken bits just yet...)

Excellent news on the new Tuscan convertible. You must be counting down the days.
Nick Smith (Regional Organiser) and the gang would be delighted to see any new TVR owners at the regional meetings/outings. They are a great hoot and you get to see some amazing cars.
Contact him on..... nick.smith50@ntlworld.com
He could give you details of the forward programme and advise you how to get onto our Regional Chat Website on Yahoo. (I have forgotten!!)
Look forward to meeting up with any Newbies...we all were at one time.

Great timing on this thread (for me!). I was renewing with Elephant at £1,350 with 2 yrs NCB in Central London. When I told them that I picked up 3 points for speeding last year, they increased my premium by £414!!! The girl at elephant didn't think this was unreasonable and then told me that they count points for 5 years.

For info:
Elephant: £1,760 (part of Admiral)
Admirmal: £1,760 (Admiral)
Bell Direct: £1,035 (part of Admiral)
Sunninghill £2,000 area
Classicline £2,600 area

hallsie I found Bell direct to be very good as well. Picked my Mk1 up couple of weeks ago. Did the same as you got some 100+ quotes via internet and over the phone. all ranging £600-2500.

Bell was £640 for me which I was very impressed with. Age 37 with no no-claims, but clean license (at the mo).

Take a spare pair of boxers with you. You'll be so excited you might just need them
It's dry out there at the moment but easy with the right hoof!!.

Oh and by the way, get some carbon cans fitted - they make a hell of a difference to the exhaust sound - they sound sooooo good, you may not want to upgrade the sound system.

Hi Craig - not sure about the photo in the book as haven't seen it yet. I ordered Mr Tipler's book from Amazon and when I checked a week later, they wanted another 6 weeks plus to deliver it so I cancelled the order.
Any ideas on how can I get the book sooner?

You were right - the car is now famous. Must be worth a fortune now
Managed to get Johnny Tipler's book and lo and behold, there is my pride and joy on page 183.
Well spotted Craig. Think I could post it on the Spotted forum now?

Going back to insurance quotes. Picking up my car, Tuscan S vert. next weekand, considering I live in North London and the car will be kept on the drive will be paying £687.15 which includes car hire and is bonus protected, also the people at Privilege are also very nice to talk to!

Can't wait to get that hood down

Ah - good price, mine's with Bell, £790, 33yrs full NCD but a few speeding points! I've got two cars insured with Bell actually, my other one's an Alfa that I use for work.

I've heard that Admiral are doing a dual scheme though, to have 2 cars under one policy?
