Guys
Went out to the Tuscan this morning and could not even get it open! The key would noit unlock it when i pressed the "zapper" and so I resorted to gettiung the roof off.........got to try and start the car and nothing!! Tried the lighjts and nothing etc etc.

I only had a brand new battery fitted in December, so wondering why it would of gone completely flat or are we looking at an electronics failiure? I drove it only 5 days ago so a bit strange that it is completely dead. It doesnt even do the machine gun sound that you get when there is a flat battery!

Can anyone help, shed some light etc?

Dan,
Do you keep your Tuscan parked outside? You could have some moisture / damp / condensation running down the windscreen and into the fuse box. This can activate the headlights, wipers etc. even though they are switched off, thus draining the battery in a short time. When the battery voltage gets low enough, the alarm will activate and further drain the battery. Possible action: use your anderson jump leads and a fully charged external battery to gain entry to the car, remove the fuses and or relays for the headlights / wipers / fans / whatever is running that shouldn't be, thoroughly dry the car inside possibly using a small fan heater (WITH A THERMAL CUT-OUT) on LOW heat placed in the driver's foot well facing forwards. Trickle charge the battery via the jump leads for a couple of days, refit the fuses and relays, and try again. Good luck.
Chris.

Hi Guys

Got it started by jump starting so seems like a battery problem! BUT took it for a 20 min spin, got back to my house, switched off and then it would not start again. So going to post a new question on how long it takes to charge.

REason for drain - we found the boot didnt lock properly and the light stayed on! I actually6 climbed in and got it shut on me to see if it stayed on...........very TVR!!

Thanks guys

My kids figured out how to tell if a light has gone off inside a boot/fridge etc. One of them set their phone onto video record, put it inside the fridge then shut and opened the door.

I learnt two things from that - the light really does go off when you shut the fridge door; and don't ever bet your kids can't do something if it involves technology. And anything seems funny when you've had too much Christmas spirit.
