100 Amp fuse blown & Oil pressure sensor - I need new one.
Discussion
Hello folks, my old alternator was putting out 16v peaks, (flickering and pulsing lights), so thought it best be changed before I cooked something expensive. Austec sent me a replacement alternator, and I swapped this yesterday. Put it all back together and had a little run but I was reporting 11.5v on my dash. I used the search facility on PH with "alternator", and it pointed me to the 100 Amp fuse. Here's where the little blighter is located (on back of the starter motor)
Blown Fuse
While I was there I found a leaking oil pressure sensor, so need to swap this as well. (I think I might have bashed it changing the alternator).
I know a few others have bought these, but wheres the best place to get them quickly?
Where's the best documentation on a Tuscan? PistonHeads
Any TVR dealer or specialist should be able to supply them. If you get stuck, places like www.vehicle-wiring-products.co.uk sell fusible links for a couple of quid although they might not be exactly the right size/shape so be prepared for a bit of fettling.
Hi Justin
Isn't it nice to have the old girl back after all this time?
Ungrateful B*tch!!!
After all you've been through, you should have expected a slightly easier time of it?
Still, she hasn't run for a while, and hopefully once this 'teething' is over, you'll have the car you deserve, and will be able to start enjoying her properly......

0.5mm Thk, 6mm wide.
So estimate that a Galaxy wrapper would need folding approx 6 times. (Someone did ask)!!!
BF1 miniature fuse link,100A 32Vdc
RS Stock no: 431-6747 - £1.13 ea.
Ruddy lugs are in the wrong place, but it might be good for the fuse material.
Anyhow fixed it!!! On to a new post - fluid leak next. FFsake

mine did this also. looking at it I don't think it blew, I think it cracked due to bad design/vibration. there is a little "melting" but my altenetor was intermittent for a whilt and I think arcing caused this.
none of the local car part's shops could get one. Halfwits didn't even know what it was.
if it goes again I think I'll replace the whole unit with something more substantial
