I should be picking up my new Tuscan convertible next month...and I thinking about my 1000 mile service. Friends with T350s have gone to TVR Power for servicing...they jack the car and tilt it to ensure all 11 litres of oil are drained...my local dealer just drains 6 litres. Concerned with a new engine that I don't want the 5 litres (at the bottom of engine full of nasties) left in. It does seems suprising that even without a sump that 5 litres stay at bottom...but TVR power should know.
Can anyone give the advice from their experiences....Will I have to pay for the 1000 mile service if I go to TVR power if I bought from another dealer??

11 Litres is the system capacity, although on an oil change they only seem to get about six litres out. At my last three services one of which was at TVR power I have provided my own oil and have only given them six litres which has been sufficient.

As for 1K mile service charges this seems to depend on which dealer you used as some charge & others don't.Although If you are going to a different dealer than you bought it from they may charge you, for the parts.

You generally get about 6.5 litres out of the oil tank. If you remove the engine's "dry" sump plug you can syringe out another 1.5 litres - I'd recommend you always ensure this is done.

Thanks everyone for their input, especially the tennis player I'm going to factory on Wednesday so I'll see what they say. I believe Nicoli's brother is the new PR man...what's PR I ask.....

Spoke to the Service Manager at the factory...he confirms exactly what Devils Advocate says...8 litres is the max you can get out and he recommended you get as much out as you can.

With regards to cost of service, you are expected to pay for the oil and filter only at the first service. The servicing dealer then can charge the labour cost back to the supplying dealer. This is a set time at the dealer warranty rate, usually five hours on a Speed Six engined car. Hope that this helps. Best regards, Tony Abrams
