Worried.......Steaming Tuscan
Discussion
I have a small problem which you might be able to help me with, I was warming up my Tuscan today i was going to check the oil before going out, the water temp got up to about 90deg and the cap on the filler seemed to lift and deposit about a cup full of steaming coolant onto the drive, the fans then cut in and down came the temp, what do you think could have caused this? Have i got any thing to worry about?
I really need to use it tomorrow morning, not sure if there's anything I should do with it first.
Please help

Are you definately sure that both fans are working?
I went through the same situation trying to rectify the problem thinking I was underfilling or overfilling the coolant. I even tried changing the cap but to no avail.
I eventually worked out that there was an intermittant fault on the switch for the first fan, so sometimes it worked but often it didnt. Got it changed pretty cheaply.

Over filled mine in the last two days, and made mine steam. The cold doesnt help as it makes it look worse. Fill up to the bottom of the elbow, and things will be fine. The oil remperature is good to watch if you are concerned about water not being reported correctly.
As Neill said to me - Stop worrying!

I had a few days last year when the beastie would make steam train impressions usually just as I arrived outside Nottinghill tubes station which caused much entertainment for all. It was a faulty fan contact and took the gentlemen at Barnet a few minutes to sort.
Makes a good cup of tea your Tuscan.
