The long wait continues.....
Discussion
So I've been drooling over a tuscan for a couple of years
, noted the issues with the early models and have quietly waited for the used car prices to deteriorate to something a bit more sensible and for the engine fixes to get incorporated into the cars. I am very mechanically minded (rebuilt engines before) and the usual tvr niggles don't bother me. I've scoured this tuscan forum, the speed 6 forum and general tvr stuff, been round tvr dealers (not keen on paying them 3-4K for the privilege of buying) and had various fun trips. I've got my eyes wide open, the dosh in the bank, a very reasonable insurance quote (one benefit of turning 40), a copy of the 'what to look for in a tuscan purchase guide' from here in one hot sticky paw and the phone number of someone to check the car prior to purchase in the other.
Can I find a car I like - can I heck......
Not sure about other peoples feelings but there are a lot of silverish tuscans out there which look great but don't do it for me. Orange doesn't either nor some of the more garish colours. I think the car looks better in a darker colour but black is just a bit too bland.
So I sit here dreaming about my weekend toy....
4.0 Reflex charcoal, 01-02, prob S else RR, 18" wheels, air-con, nice leather colour etc..., ftvrsh, recent engine rebuild (tvr power would be nice), for that age likely getting on for 15-20k miles hence ideally with a new clutch as it is probably on the way out by then. Hopefully a single tvr fanatic owner who knows the warmup schedule, has spared no expense on the beast and wouldn't dream of taking it on a trackday. If they've nitron'd it all the better but a laser geometry setup would be a good start.
Can anyone think of anything I could be doing to reduce the wait time or am i being way way way too picky (polite answers only please)

Do not think you are being too picky Stuart - worth waiting for the car you really want, even if it does take time - although seasons do tend to dictate price a little! One quick suggestion - Rob Ingleby does a "search" service for I think £500-£600 which basically involves him taking your spec and then searching his contacts/places around the country. Fernhurst can also assist with a similar service I think (don't quote me on that).
One thing - air con; lots of debate on here historically as to whether this is, or is not, necessary. If you are going for an "S", then this is a moot point, but if you are not, and expand the search to a standard Tuscan, you may potentially have more joy, and even more so if you are willing to bend on this spec item. I do not have a/c on my 03, and although I did consider this a "must" when searching, it was not actually a problem last summer, primarily because the top was off most of the time (and I do not have a garage).
Best of luck.
You couldn`t have looked that hard,Pher Stuart Salt (Salty Nvl) has just sold his car in the spec you want, give or take a couple of minor details
If you dimissed this car you will be looking in another couple of years
