6000 Mile Service - Oil

Just dropped my car of at TVR Power for its 6000 mile service and to have the POD upgraded.

Whilst generally chatting with Andy, he said that they put semi synthetic oil in 10-40W, and not fully synthetic.

Anybody know if this is general practice in other dealers, or are they charging for something which is not necessary.

When i had my last car serviced at power they put in semi 10/40 and said they will always until the car has done 12,000 miles then they use full syn.

Just got mine back from David geralds after 6000 mile service and they used Mobil 1 motorsport 15W50.

i think most dealers seem to have a favoured supplier/deal.
