I am looking to purchase a Tuscan S over the next few weeks and i wondered if there are any colours to avoid that affect resale cost or make the car hard to shift?? I would presume that silver & black are no problems but i have also seen examples in Halycon Atlantis, Venetian Blue & Rosso Red that i am considering. Are any of these going to be dodgy colours come changing car time. Are there any other colours to either opt for or avoid - Advise would be great!!

Not sure about ones to avoid as it is such a personal decision, but I find Silver/Black/Mulberry/Crystal Topaz/Grigio Alloy (mine) generally appeal to BOTH male and females, whereas one cannot always say that of certain colours! And in many cases, the purchase decision is a 2 person one!!

Most people know that TVR's, the later ones in particular come in wild and wonderful colours, its part of their appeal. You rarely go to a meet and see two the same. All the base, metallic, pearlescent, reflex and chameleon colours are popular. The "cascade" can be a bit overpowering IMHO but each to their own. A major consideration is to find out how much the paint is, as some of the more complicated colours can be frighteningly expensive if you ever need paintwork doing. Also ensure that the interiors compliment the exterior as there are some, shall we say very strange examples out there.
Good luck.

Di
(and obviously Topaz is best )

Mines rosso red (pearl), It really is one of the nices colours i've ever seen on a car

I've seen a pea green tuscan around liverpool, surely he'd never get a buyer for that if he was selling!

I personally liked the two tone paint work, think it looks great.

However my brother being a painter, talked me out of it (again not my opinion, but since he would paint it if reqiured, I had to listen).

He says the two tone looks chav? and is a bugger to touch up, complete respray every time, this scared me off them!

I like my blue, though

The dealers will tell you that the more garish colours only really sell if brand new or nearly new. Anything more than a couple of years old is beter in a straight metallic, with a conventional (read matching) interior .

But above all keep this in mind:

It is YOUR car- get the colour YOU like, whether cheaper or not. There will always be people who like or dislike the same thing.

Innit?

What the dealers tell you depends entirely on whether you are buying or selling....!

Completely agree with the other sentiment though. I had a yellow one, and I do think that I lost out on resale because of lack of demand. On the other hand, if you have a silver etc, you may risk having too much supply.

I say go for what YOU like. What you will get for it when you sell depends on so many other things, that in all likelyhood is colour DOES affect price then you will also have the benefit of it when you bought it.
