NO more postings from me No more pictures from me NO more anything from me on the Speed eight project.
What a Bl**dy travesty!
This innovative engineer has been hounded out of PH by a select few, you know who you are.
This guy has only been around for a week, probable the longest week in his life.
Lets give Speed eight our thanks for giving all of us an insight into his Tuscan modification to a SBC engine. Something we’ve all been asking TVR to consider for a long long time.
IT'S HIS PROJECT IT'S HIS ENGINEERING EXPERTISE, I for one feel it would be a great shame to see Speed eight leave PH in light of the hostility he has received.
What do you think?
I've put this on the Tusacan forum as it was here that the original thread stared.

Blimey..16 pages in a week. Certainly caused some kerfuffle!
I think a spell in the sin bin for the perpetrators is easily justifyable in this case. IMO they are in clear breach of the "rules of posting" rule 2, clause i. Specifically the last part of the paragraph.

I suspect that some of it is just due to the personalities of the people concerned, there are a couple of characters who seem to get quite belligerent for no obvious reason. I suspect that there may also be some vested interest here, a couple of the characters involved are involved in other engine upgrades/transplants and might have a commercial interest in the outcome.
It's disgracefull, whatever the reason.

I think what has happened is at 14:30 today (Fri 24th) gazzab mentioned the LSx engine. He has a Cerbera. shpub is putting one of these into a Cerb (not a Tuscan).
At 15:16 JR probably mis-interpreted the earlier posts making it look like the LSx Tuscan was happening - which then raised the old chestnut of "why the iron block and not the LS alumuinium block", the topic that REALLY gets to Richard since HE TRIED IT AND THE LS1 WAS TOO WIDE. He has many engines in his workshop. However Mr Ellison seems certain that "there must be some way". Richard feels his engineering expertise keeps getting called into question [/ b]:brickwall: and that it seems very difficult to get his reasons across due to this.
The thread then decended further into tangtry of tuning and supercharging the LS7 to 1000 bhp....

My thoughts entirely!
Thanks for your support, I'll bow out now and let the Ph collective speak for themselves.
I think maybe speed eight is being a trifle over sensitive. From reading every post, there are few detractors and they really aren't worth worrying about.SP8, the vast majority of us owners are interested in your project and not what others think about it. Let them start their own thread. Please continue.

2nd'ed and I think the moderators need to get a grip on the obvious trouble makers and sin bin them for stupid antagonising posts.
The technology exists so ban them for a few days, or even better from the thread permanently.
It's not the first time 'The Idiots' have disrupted a perfectly decent conversation.

Now I know I'm still a relative newbe to PH but I do have a great deal of interest in all things TVR, hence why I bought one.
I still am dumbfounded that someone comeones on PH with something different and new for a car, people get upset? Why?
I read all that post and it seems some people can't stand the fact that there are others out there who also have an interest in creating TVR based projects? Again why?
I really feel like I have missed something as to why some people have got upset about Speed8 posting? Do people offering engine conversions think that this may take business from them? I mean if the posts reflect the level of professionalism why would you buy anything from them?!
I thought PH was a bit more grown up than this and to be honest its the kind of thread I would expect to see on Max power.

Shocked to see this actually.
I read the thread last night, which I found really interesting, and I felt impressed that someone was producing a turnkey solution to an issue that some see as a real problem for the Tusan.
I'm not sure if reading through the remaining 10 pages warrants the time as I know the ending, but surely a different or innovative approach should be welcomed?
Surprised Speed Eight has been made to feel enough frustration to remove any further posts, bit of a shame really as it's something I'd personally like to know a lot more about

I think business got in the way of enthusiasm here. Shameful really as we are all enthusiasts first
Very True. An interesting and thought provoking thread, and as an owner of a V8 (85k miles and counting) and a Tuscan (one new engine 10k miles), I am keen to see further developments. Come on back Sp8 - remember that ultimately, this site is for like minded people to share ideas, learn a little something, and hopefully continue to spread the word as fellow enthusiasts (and hopefully encourage potential new ones).
