Yesterday on the way home I thought I saw steam coming from the right radiator vent at the front of the bonnet, which I didn't pay much attention to thinking it was just moisture burning off.
This morning on the way to work I realised it was light grey smoke and quite a lot of it.
It only seems to emit when the car is actually moving, not when the engine is just revving, so I'm wondering if it's some kind of friction around the front right wheel.

Limped home with visions of my first flatbed callout.

Has anyone here had anything similar?

Not on the front right, but I've had an intermittent bit of oil smoke coming out of the left vent near the windscreen.

It's the odd drop of oil seeping from the rocker box/head seal. No gaskets, so it's been predominantly fixed with a well placed bit of sealant.

What does the smoke smell of?

I didn't smell anything, but it was a blowy morning.
I revved the engine pretty hard while stationary and got no smoke at all. Then every time I pulled away it started smoking again which is why I thought it might be a friction thing. But there was no unusual sound.

Lift the bonnet and see where it coming from before you go much further. It might be something simple like a wire dangling against the hot exhaust, which would be easy to fix now but could lead to much worse problems if left.

I've had the front cover up and can't see anything obvious around the fans/radiator.
To be honest I've only had the car since Nov last year and haven't needed to lift the main bonnet yet so I'm a bit in the dark. I'll have a search through past threads for info.

Cheers,
