Hi everybody,

Just bought a Tuscan from the classifieds over the bank holiday weekend and I can't wait for the money transfer to happen before I can pick the car up. I am very excited, as this will be my first TVR. BTW what a fantastic and friendly forum. It really helped me a lot picking the right car, so many thanks to all fellow PH contributors.

As I will be changing the plates, I am wondering which model goes best with the Tusc: plain, black or blue border, flag? For info my TVR will be Halcyon Space Pearl (dark purplely-blue). I think I will go for a flag as I intend to take the car abroad and don't really want to wear a GB sticker on the boot!

Do you want to share your opinions or even post some pictures of your plates. Most of the Tuscans I've seen simply have the plain plates so it's difficult to imagine what they look like with borders & flags.

Thanks,

Christophe

What with the recent crap about speed (sorry REVENUE GENERATING)cameras sprouting up all over and the soon to be implemented digital( MORE REVENUE GENERATING) cameras ......I am seriously considering buying one of those LCD screens that goes over the front of the plate.......transparent when not active, opaque when active.....otherwise dont care what it looks like

A company called Privaplate were supplying them. I considered one last year but opted for the Road Angel, but now that there are so many cameras cropping up country wide may be worth considering one of these Privaplate things as well.

Bollox just tested the link from the above page and looks like the rozers must have gotten to em...!

There is also another product that is self contained (no cutting into power supplies). Its a motorised flip plate that fits behind your existing plate and with the flick of a switch your plate flips down and a dash led lights to warn you its down. Flick the switch back and the plate is up. (These were available a number of years ago for bikes in similar form but using a motor driven bowden cable).

Now thats proper james bond stuff, but surely you'd have to spot the camera in time to activate it! You need a totally automated device that the law won't spot

I've seen 4 products of this type before, but all makers are no longer trading. BTW, i have honeycomb plates with blue border/ TVR logo and the words 'Pure Power' in small lettering at the bottom, and they look great! From www.fancyplates.co.uk
