I took my Tuscan on it's first track day on Tuesday and came across a small problem... The suspension seems to be bottoming out and even causing the wheel to catch on the wheel arch. Any idea what my options may be. As it's a new car I'm not keen on replacing the shocks yet... I knew I should have gone for an "S" :-(

One of the standard shocks on mine leaked so much fluid it was just about empty and that was after just 4000 miles, however the car was 2 years old. I would get a dealer to check it out, it maybe an item under warranty...tho I would'nt hold my breath if I were you.

BUT I can say that a set of Nitrons (if set up correctly) will improve the handling no end and transform the whole feeling of the car.....it was a worth while investment for me....at least until the engine went the journey.

Good luck

Can anyone recommend someone to fit and set up a set of nitrons?

Dealer wise Racing Green in Ash Vale. Indie choices Austec Racing or APM.

I've just been speaking to the dealer I got the car from (London TVR) and they've been really good to date. They're checking out the warranty aspect of fitting Nitrons but have mentioned a change to "S" shocks may help. Anybody got any thoughts on that as an idea?

Personally, I would steer towards the Nitrons rather than TVR's original equipment, even from the 'S'. That way, you know exactly what you are getting, can adjust them to your tastes, and they are rebuildable. If you want the ultimate set up, go for Ohlins dampers but they would be around the £2K mark whereas Nitrons are £1K (talking round numbers).

If the wheel's catching the arch there's something wrong. It should be corrected under warranty.
