Replacing a headlight unit
Discussion
I am just wondering if anyone knows what is involved in replacing the dipped beam headlight unit on a mk1 Tuscan. A stone has cracked my light and formed a small hole in it. I have temporarily filled the small hole with superglue and that has kept moisture out and the light works fine, but with MOT approaching I will need to get it fixed. Normally it would be a case of unplugging some wires, unbolting the light unit and replacing with a new one, however I have heard rumours of TVR actually bonding the light unit to the car??? Is this the case? I have yet to remove the bonnet and access the area but I am curious to hear about what I am letting myself in for!
Also does anyone know where I should try and get a light unit from - the dealer I approached said that they are on back order from the factory and was not able to quote timescales. Can you get them direct form Hella?
All suggestions gratefully received!
