Tuscan 2 Convertable roof panel

I'm contemplating chopping my Cerbera in for a Convertable Tuscan but have been told by someone who should know that there is a problem getting the roof panel into the boot. I'm told there is a tendency to pull the seals off the edges of the panel because it is such a tight fit, much worse than the Griff. Is this someone trying to just put me off or is this a real problem?

I have had absolutely no problems (could be because I live in Scotland...)

there is a slight knack - you have to put one corner in first and twist it in, but fits very easily.

I agree, its definitelty a knack. I wouldn't hinge my decision on the roof panel alone. ps. I don't live in Scotland.

Having struggled a bit with our previous Chimaera roof panel, I went for the option on a lightweight panel, which makes a huge difference. Once you've got the knack with it it's fine, but yes, it does tend to pull at the seals. Being honest, I have to say that in hindsight we much preferred the storage arrangement for the panel in the Chimaera. A large amount of the boot space is lost when the panel is stored in the boot. Also it's a pain having to take the panel out in order to get at anything that is in the boot.

Having said that, these are minor irritations and I wouldn't swap it for anything!

We had the same problem with the Tamora roof panel. Probably the best suggestion is to practise with the dealer when you get the car and then you should have no issues.

with the T2 i have no prbs on my own, slips into the boot like....like.....welll easily is what i mean!!

Thanks guys, looks like I was given a bit of a bum steer, now just need to work out if I can live without my Cerbera

I don't think you were given a bum steer...my rubber trim has come off twice in 2 months...I sure this is only a convertible problem...I just keep super glueing it back on. The problem comes because you have to pivot the roof on the far right edge to get it in the boot...as it pivots it pulls the rubber away...I've made a small triangular cover to go over the corner of the roof hence doesn't pull the rubber so much (a bit a fiddle though). Other problem comes with the roll hoops marking the rear persex screen when the targa is down...solution get some clear adhesive film on the roll hoops. These a minor problems don't let it put you off...it's an absolutely great car....I've never heard of the lightweight roof option...sounds good.

ITS EASY - I have a Tuscan Targa and the wife has a convertable Beemer, just to PROOVE a point I raced the wife in getting our TOPS OFF - and for once in our beautiful long marriage my top was off first , she came a close second tho.

You have to be a little careful placing the lid in the boot mind, but it really is easy and no trims have ever fallen off mine.
