I have some serious clonking coming from either the axle or prop on my Tuscan 3.6 when taking up power. Its 2 years old and only done 15000 miles. Any ideas? Could it be the diff...does anyone know what the diff originaly comes from so i can get it shimmed/rebuilt? Has anyone had this done? Do the propshaft u.j's give problems? i cant see or feel any movement in them...... never had this before. Any info gratefully recieved

I'd check the diff mounting bushes if I were you.

Not had the problem on my 2002 4.0 Tuscan in 21,000 miles but my son has a 2003 3.6 Tamora with 11,000 miles on it and he had the same problem as you describe.
Had a diff mounting bush changed at 9000 miles but now has had to get the diff changed at 11,000 miles.

It is the diff bush (mainly right hand side) except no tvr dealer has any in stock...does anyone know of an alternative bush that might fit?

Adam, that bush on ebay has been relisted. Its actually described as a front diff bush and I have to say that I'm not mechanically minded enough to know if that will solve your problem.Anyway its item number 200016135389, up for a tenner!

Thanks for that, I found the rear set but they wanted couple of hundred quid! Rang about 20 dealers and eventually got a set of Poly bush's from Racing Green. Great service, Bush's arrived the next day and i fitted them in a couple of hours whilst seriously putting my back out trying to undo the massive allen bolts!!

Now all i have to do is sort out the crunching 5th gear..........Now is that the syncro or the clutch??
