Guys,

in the market for purchasing above. Can anyone shed any light on their own purchases / experiences. Loads around 4-£500. Want to use in Europe also, any pointers?

Cheers

Very happy with my Nuvi 350. Drove around France with it this summer, can get a bean bag mount (so don't have to use the suction mount of the TVR), and easy to add a speed camera database. Plus, it fits in a shirt pocket so you don't have to try and hide it in the car.

I got a Pioneer ANH P9R. It has a chrome front and the standard Pioneer CD changer fits into it.

Looks great in the dash. It may be discontinued but you should find them on EBay.

Definitely recommend

Just search for P9R and you should see a few. here's one . . .

I bought a portable Navman ICN510 over a year ago. To be honest it works very well, back on track and re-route, but the UK maps are hoplessly out of date. It does not have the new stretch of the A120 (Essex) in and that I am told has been open for 2 years. Also the new section of the A1 that runs round Ferrybridge is not in and thats been open a year now. I have noticed that sometimes during bad weather it can take a while to find satellites and it works better in some cars than in others.

Oh... with regards to my comments above I bought the latest software and map updates earlier this year as well. Poor show in my opinion.

I have used a tom tom go700 for last 9 months and its a cracker!! Noticed recently as well they have bought out some new models and go500 and go700 are now even cheaper in various stores. Europe maps are built in (on hard disk), bluetooth hands free kit as part of package, remote control, safety (speed) cameras as a free download from there website! Great product!

Guys, thanks for the advice. Has anyone fitted the Alpine unit, that has a built in 5-6" flat screen that comes out of the stereo aperture itself. Theres one on e bay currently, going for 300 squids (4 days left though). I don`t think there is room behind the radio pod.

Advice anyone
