Hello chaps, I have a small problem with the passenger door not opening. This occurs both from the outside and inside when the button is pushed. The window comes down alright but then the door just doesn't open. My girlfriend is getting fed up pulling the lever to get out (i mean the one under the dashboard) Any advice appreciated.

I have same problem on my convertible, can hear the door switch operating but doesn't ping open...on the 2nd or 3rd go ...it opens....always works on the emergency pull lever....tried greasing etc. ..one thing that has helped and got the door to fit better...is inserting some plastic tubing in the door rubber surround...pretty easy on the convertible since the door rubber sits in a stop where the hood starts...thats made the door line up the body better and also holds the door tighter hence doesn't bang when you go over a bump in the road.

I had the same problem a while ago and was told it would probably be the control box underneath the centre console. To confim this i swapped over the drivers and passengers control boxes as they are the same to see if the fault transfered with the box. In my case it didn't so with further investigation i found that where the electric cable attaches to the solenoid which opens the door the connection had correded and fallen off due to moisture getting in. A bit of soldering and insulator tape sorted it no problem. The solenoid is located where the seatbelt dissapears into the body of the car, to get to it just remove the speaker and some of the door seal which releases the panel that covers it. Its a fairly easy job and everything went back into place after i had finished. Hope this helps if you need more info just let me know. Rich
