Hi all,

On the way back from Austec, I noticed (with roof off and idling in traffic) that I could hear a constant, medium pitch "whine". Didn't change pitch with rev's or road speed, just constant. I pulled over and turned off the engine and then listened for the fuel pump when I turned the key half-way and it kicked in ok as normal and then clicked off. Started engine and then I could hear the whine again, sounds quite similar to the initial "priming" noise. Could this be a sign of the pump on its way out perhaps?

Cheers

Andy

Thanks Kris,

How long did you notice the additional noise before it gave up the ghost? Is it possible to check the make/model of the pump without taking the old one off perhaps?

Cheers

For anyone who might need to know, the Bosch pump is BOJ0580254957 and the likes of Camberley Auto Factors sell them for about £100 +VAT.

PS: Thanks to Keith in TVR Gatwick...

Hi,

Well I am just keeping an eye on it for now but if it does die on me then I will most likely try to replace it myself, yes.

Cheers
