The only time I ever took my Tuscan on the track, it was wet and it did SUPERBLY! One gear higher than usual on any dodgy camber corners and you'll be OK. I was amazed by the wet braking into the hairpin and it had a lot more gas than the 911s there.
Tips: check your liquid levels, take your helmet (and remove the seat cushion so it fits in the car!) and don't put your handbrake on when you park - leave it in gear instead. Otherwise, have fun!

and dont try and keep up with the far superior T350. And when Cheeky says ceck your liquid levels he does'nt mean get in the Town Cryer the night before.

No - Mallory Park. Admittedly spun once at Devil's Elbow but it was a piece of cake to catch up again, even if overtaking in the spray was nasty.
I guess that was one of my ballsier (stupid?) days, especially braking into the hairpin from 105 in the wet. I certainly didn't push quite so hard in the Z06 at Silverstone.
There were quite a few Gumballers at Mallory Park (in the earlyish days), so the Tuscan hammering their Porkers and a couple of Ferraris was a pleasant surprise.
Haven't had it on the track since the '03 rebuild though.
Vaguely considering turning it into a track monster if I don't sell it...

Never been on Silverstone but Cadwell and Oulton. I found the Tuscan v quick, infact awsomely so and sometimes i was a little to eager to create space between me and the car behind esp' if he had closed in thro corners. This can result in rather late and v high speed braking coupled with a down shift and setting up for the corner. (otherwise known as a mess
). Moral being brake and change down on the straight and have power into and thro the corner. The car was great tho, only problem being a sticking throttle cable which seemed a commen fault and easily fixed with a liberal dose of WD 40. Other than that used no oil, temp stayed cool and no brake fade. Hope its dry for you. D. supergrass said:

A spare 100amp fuse is a good idea. I tracked my 2000 Tuscan at Snetterton this year and it was superb. It was faster than the Rover V8 stuff, held its own against other (newer) S6 stuff and was only really beaten by V8 cerbs and one wicked Noble.
We all know about the S6 finger follower oil starvation thing SO make sure you bring the oil temp above 60 degrees before doing a session. Also, my engine guru believes that warming on tick-over does little good because the oil pressure does not get high enough. So have a little blat around the carpark well before your session starts.
I have fitted nitrons to mine so she felt very stable. In any case, drive within your limits and not the cars. Its a fantastic day, awesome trouser changing smile welded on seat of the pants fun day. you'll love it.

Any thoughts on trackday insurance - I've had a quote for £300 for a day - is it worth it? Or should I just get a proper quote from somebody who'll include track day cover in their overall insurance?
