Tuscan S Purchase Views
Discussion
Hi
I have currently placed a deposit on an 03 Tuscan S, £27k, 25k miles, full engine re-build three months ago, moonraker black, black interior with red piping, some crazy multi coloured cans that sound like a bat out of hell. Buying from Castle TVR in Essex. Is this a good price as the world of Tuscan's is slightly new to me. Five days and my finance should be ready and i am hoping to collect next weekend.
Any views, comments on the price would be welcome.

sounds very cool. do you get much of a warranty? I'd be expecting one from a dealer at least a year for that.
I have heard that the 2003 cars were the quickest the tuscan ever got. Certainly the test times were rampant in those days. Autocar got 0-100 in 8.08 secs. That is insane and only .2 of a second slower than the quickest ever F40 time! It annilated a Noble in the same test. For reference the best Sagaris time I've seen is 0-100 in 8.5. So the 2003 tuscans really did fly.

Hi
Thanks for the info, yes the car comes with a dealers warranty for a year and also some form of break down assistance. Also from what i see Cstle TVR seem pretty good guys/dealer, not many dealers where you stand in their garage next to your future purchase in pieces sipping tea. Ha ha

You could do a lot worse!
Castle TVR are IMO the best around, Rob & Co will certainly look after you.
You have chosen a nice motor.
Remember its greasy out there so dont drive like Lightning McQueen.
I remember when i first bought my Cerbera from castle, had it a couple of days and lost it on a roundabout. Had to change me skiddies when i got home, i was lucky. Have a nose a
round the forums and you will see some folk have not been so lucky lately.
Drive carefully and have fun.
Give Pauline a ring about the Mid Essex meets.
PS: When do you pick it up

Hello Marcus - a few recommendations;
- spend a few weeks getting used to the car, then book in for a Ride Drive course which will be enormously beneficial and give you plenty of confidence in your and the cars abilities.
- spend a lot of time reviewing postings on this forum, and the General/Speed six forums. You have probably done this, but it will also prepare you with some knowledge when the usual niggles take place (EFI warnings, leaks, etc) and avoid panics.
- Ensure your warranty covers full engine rebuild potential; not being a doom-monger, but if it excludes fair wear and tear it may be an issue, and many aftermarket warrantys have refused to pay out on rebuilds. No worries if the full TVR approved warranty.
- consider Nitrons on an ongoing basis and ensure the geometry of the car is absolutely spot on which it should be for a car being purchased from a dealers.
And above all, enjoy, but watch it on these "interesting" roads currently.....

Your total postings are a bit spooky
Hi
Thanks for the info and tips guys. Hopefully pick her up next weekend if not sooner. I have never smiled so much in all my life on the test drive. I am going to book some courses with Michael Caine from Castle, who i see and hear is a legend and is selling the car to me so can hopefully get some for a reduced price. I currently drive an 02 M3 but this is another beast entirely, i owe it to myself and mostly the car to get some lessons on how to handle her.
I will let you know when the car is on my drive.

Fu*k me you wont get better than Chuky Caine, and if you have sky watch him on Motors TV on the Porsche Carrera Cup Highlights, he's fantastically good and unlucky this year!
It will be the best £*** you've ever spent (do donnington with him)
If you have the car on Sunday the 10th December come along to silverstone, there will be some TVR owners doing a track day, you will meet some ugly guy they call the BOSS, and me of course.
The day starts at 9 till 4 so pop along for some passenger rides with me and UGLY.
OH and bring some spare skiddies, Ugly is a shit driver
