Door adjustment
Discussion
Seasons greetings to you all.
Finally got the car looking good but the drivers door never releases first go. In fact seems to have got worse over the last 6 weeks to the point that I have to press the button, wait for the window to drop, put my hand inside the car and lift the door whilst holding the button under the wing mirror.
My worry is should I try to adjust the door myself and risk the damn think not opening at all and if so should I try to adjust the closing bolt/pin (for lack of a better word) or the bolt & nuts at the door hinge.
Any advise would be appreciated.

Remove the stainless steel plate covering the lock mechanism and adjust the position of the mechanism to best suit your needs. Its held in place by 2 allen screws. This worked for me on my passenger door.

Thanks,
I'll give that a try in the morning. As luck would have it I noticed that the window was going down a little slowly today and noticed that the window is pulling down the rubber seal (on the outside) as the window goes down.
I'm assuming I will get be able to slip something down between the window and the rubber and work it gradually into position but worried that as soon as I put the window down that it will drag the rubber down with it again.
Any useful tips to fix this one.
