Welcome Martin
Congrats on the path to a new level of performance........
Enjoy the car, BUT...treat it as you would a bad-tempered Grizzly bear that's been raised by someone you trust.
It may seem friendly the first time, the second time, hell, even the 100th time.....
BUT, whatever you do - don't take it for granted that it won't bite!!!
Every time you get on the throttle - ease it down just waiting for the back to snap round - especially in dry weather / perfect conditions(!)......this is when most calamities happen - when your guard is dropped.
In the wet / cold / greasy / icy / etc / conditions it is prudent to be sensible with the loud pedal.....what comes as a HUGE surprise to many (myself included
!) is what can (and frequently does!) happen if you get blase with these beasts!
This cannot be understated enough!!!!
Follow this simple rule (along with the one about {ahem!} minor niggles occuring from time to time) and you won't go far wrong.

Yes I second that advice as I had a mishap in my previous Tuscan on a wet Sunday afternoon. I didn't know that you could wheel spin in third gear while moving, to my suprise and misery, it turns out you can! I just wanted to warn you so that hopefully my cars death means others may live.

Hi Martin,
I have also bought my first TVR (also a Tuscan) during december. There are few words that can really describe the feeling when the loud pedal is being increasingly squeeeeeeeezed. The travel of the pedal, the unbelievable noise and the pull of the Tuscan seem endless, its fantastic!!!!!
I've had mine just over 1 month and all i think about is dry weather.
I'm just starting to really get a feel for it. But that first day i picked it up it was absolutely belting down, i was gutted to see it standing there on the forecourt all gleaming and sounding lovely with 30 miles of slippy, soaken wet roads to drive to get it home. On the way there is a short stretch of dual carriage-way after a round-a-bout so i squeezed the loud pedal in 3rd gear and kept squeezing until rear wheels all of a sudden started spinning!!!
It had 3 effects on me.
1 I very quickly eased off and changed in to 4th.
2 I nearly s_ _ _ myself.
3 I had the biggest smile on my face!!!!!!!!!!
Enjoy yourself
but
be very careful of the loud pedal!!

What did you go for in the end? Tuscan, Tuscan S, red rose etc?
My first performance eye opener was on the test drive in a Tuscan and wanting to pull out on a dual carrigeway to overtake the car in front. Done the usual, mirror, signal, look over the right shoulder and all was clear to make the move.
Squeezed the power button as i gently eased out to go past the car in front and nearly fired myself straight in to the back of the car i was trying to overtake. Not quite as close as i make out but it showed me that whatever i had driven before was not even comparable on performance. By the way my previous car was a Lotus Esprit so i thought i was semi prepared.
All i can say is respect the animal that is a TVR.
Have fun and i would guess this will be the first of many. I now have a Sag and have already commited to a lifetime of TVR ownership.

So being a tuscan virgin whats all this total tuscan thing about then is it a big tuscan meet up, also living in truro cornwall ( thats the bit at the bottom of the uk map ) i think i will be the only tuscan owner as ive lived here all my life and never seen one yet
Drove mine down there 3 times for holidays up to now so keep your eyes open. Drove home once in torrential rain & have also driven in snow see pic so they can be driven in bad weather just very very carefully!!
I came from an M3 EVO to my first TVR which was a Chimaera & I though the difference there was huge but the difference between a Tuscan & A Chim is even bigger they really do have the ability to scare the shit out of you at times & can bite so be careful.
