I need a bit of buying advice please anyone.

ive got 18k max
ive seen a tuscan 2000 x reg
done 20000 miles had rebuild 2003 at 12000 miles and new clutch at that point.Full tvr service.Had 16" on he put 18" on and had ride set up to suit but he says with 18" on it tends to tram line alot.
Asking for £16880

The other one ive seen is black 2001
Has now had a £7000 engine rebuild has done 700 miles on rebuild amd a total of 10k miles.Full service and is asking £18k

What do you guys recon sounds best im thinking the black one but im open to advice please please please.

Who did the rebuild on the black one?
As long as it is a reputable Garage (TVR Power ) and the engine warranty (which should be 1 year) is transferrable then go for it!
The newer the rebuild the better by far.

They changed the front suspension mounting points about June/July 2001. Cars built after this will be more suitable for 18” wheels.

I don’t think you can, as far as I know it’s actually a slight change to the chassis that TVR made because of criticism of wayward handling and the demand for 18” wheels. No doubt somebody on here will be along with full details.

so do all 2000 models have this problem with 18" on

Yes, pretty much. Certainly mine did. The solution is to fit Nitron shocks. Perfect after that.

I like both of these cars, but the wisdom says the newer the rebuild, the better it will be. The rebuild should have been done by either TVR Power, TVR Craft or Austec racing.

Factory Red Rose cars did not have this problem.

Easy the black one as it's just had a late rebuild.
