Hi All

Sory the negative post but i am starting to think if owning my Tuscan is worth it. So far i have had the car for four weeks and the below has happened, and now been at Castle for two weeks Monday:-

Handbrake warning light and annoying noise stays on.
Two new shocks as one was empty of fluid and the car loved to go every which way but straight
New clutch as the old clutch had a faulty seal.
Two new front discs as one was warped and caused the car to judder over 90mph.

Luckily this is all covered under warranty. But i have lost faith a bit as i use the car eveyday for a 10mile commute and knew i was taking a risk. I paid £27k four weeks ago and god knows how much i will get for it now?????

Cheers
Mark

shout Oi! NO!!!

Seriously though - the faults you've listed fall into the TATDS category and could have happened if you'd bought just about any make of car!

At least they were done under warranty so it only cost you the inconvenience.

Hang on in there mate - wait 'till the warmer climes of spring and all the niggles are sorted.
You won't regret your choice - I promise you!

I got mine in june, and the list for the first 6 weeks was ridiculous, i thought about giving it back myself, but....it was only a temporay lapse, like mine yours was probably sitting around for a few months before you took it away, they hate being sat around, it seems to do more damage than being driven. But in all honesty hang on in there, after the first 2 months everything settled and since august its been perfect, and if you get down again just go and look at it!!

It does sound like it's a bunch a problems that have been left unfixed or caused by the car being for sale on a forecourt. Is it worth it ? Only you can answer that one - but I've commuted 37k miles in my two Tuscans so far and love it.

I know how you feel but persevere. I'm on my third TVR and its always a love hate relationship but when its good there is just nothing like it!! A bit like a demanding mistress - you often wonder why but can't give it up. You need a bucket load of patience and a sprinkling of blind faith - not to mention some spare cash but in the end I believe the juice is worth the squeeze!! Bought my Tuscan last November, drove it 6 times - each time another niggle cropped up til the engine went pop in Jan. Now its having an engine rebuild at TVR Power. Getting it back next Thursday and I can't wait! Maybe I'm just a sucker!? scratchchin

Ok so your've not got to drive it whilst the weather is poor. Given a few dry days and the roof off, your convidence will return and you will wonder why you started this post. All I want at present is my car back as I am missing it terribly .

What trouble did you have with yours?

I'd have to agree with all who have said 'definitely'!

Had mine for about two and a half years and apart from a new set of shocks at a service and the odd bit and piece I have never had an issue with mine. I've done 18k mile in that time and I think thats the difference......they need to be driven !
