One of those little irritants that drives me nuts about my Tuscan is the glue residue on the leather. It was on the car when I got it and its gone a sort of browny colour and looks like rust stains. I've tried the usual cleaning agents but nothing seems to budge it. Any suggestions?

The glue IIRC is petroleum based, therefore you should be able to remove it with petrol.

Usual disclaimers apply to this post.

Again with usual disclaimers I have used cotton buds with nail varnish remover. Probably will get flamed as bad for leather etc, but it does the job and no probs with damaging the leather at all. Just be careful.

White spirits is the safest and least smelly stuff to remove the glue that TVR seem to spread all over the place.

Thanks for the tips but tried all and nothing works. I'm looking into getting it re-coated.

Shouldn't really post this but if your desperate and really really careful I used Evo stick thinners and it did the job.

In the Summer my car was mostly left outside and in the baking heat with car being black (best colour) the leather shrunk about 5mm all around where the rear screen is to reveal a terrible dry yellow (worst colour) crust.

The only thing that moved it was the thinners it did take the shine of the leather but with a gentle buff with a clean cloth bought it back.

As I said only if your desperate and seeing as your thinking about getting it recovered might as well give it a go.
