AGHHHHHHHH Throttle cable gone !
Discussion
Finished work nice and early took the roof off enjoying myself in the sun when all of a sudden no return on the throttle , got towed home (Top Sister that i have !) been looking on here and seems that a new cable is needed and not an easy job ?? as i understand . Oh the joy of british motoring !!!
Sure can sympathise there RodMod, at least you were not going full throttle at the time it went...heart stopping moment when in fast moving traffic, trust me been there twice already!!!
There will no doubt be someone along, much more knowleable than me, any minute on this post mentioning the bracket modification thing that you may or may not already have on the car. Has anyone gone one further and sleeved the throttle cable with some kind of strong durable rubber/sleeving or the like to make it last a bit longer....or is this definitely a no go (i.e. no clearance or does it have the opposite effect and encourage sticking and the like?). Or thinking a little laterally, how difficult would it be to try attaching 2 cables to the same moving parts....reduces likelihood of sudden "no throttle at all" assuming it is less likely for both cables to go simultaneously?
