Broken roof release mechanism

hi all ive just been to take the roof off the tusc and the near side roof lever has just sheered straight off the inside of the upper wing i dont know how it was attached in the first place it looks like it was glued!!! (metal to fibreglass! )however it now just hangs by the cable. With a little difficulty ive managed to realease the pin.Has this happenend to anyone else?(hoping for "they all do this and you simply do this-----!) TONY

Not quite sure whats gone wrong there, but mine has done similar recently. The release handle just lies limp. I guess its become disconnected from the cable that retracts the holding pin, and thats having removed the lid just twice. When TMS diagnose at its 1k service tomorrow, I'll wrire further.

the hole metal assembley has come adrift from the top of the upper wing!! its not the cable because after a couple of goes if you support the metal plate the roof pin retracts will be interesting if the same and cure from dealer TONY

Sounds rather poorly! Trouble is its difficult to see up into the wing too far. Sounds like a job for the dealer. Apparently the cable on mine had shed its holding pin due to the fact that the roof bolt/pin was getting stuck in the roof section. Hey-ho Life goes on.

hi angus yer life goes on. washed the tusc today and attempted to take roof off would you beleive it no problem what so ever! the lever still hangs there but if i dont have any problems taking roof off ill leave it till next service.I take it from your "handle" its the reg no of your car? similar to mine.what colour/spec/year have you got? TONY
