I had CCC fitted to my car prior to picking it up & the difference was fantastic. 2 years later I was used to the sound & got it decatted. I just wish i'd done it earlier it sounds amazing & the noise all exits out the back (along with the flames) so it is still comfortable from inside the cabin.

On this topic, is there any reason why people shell out GBP300 for some straight pipes with an exhaust can around them? Why not simply put on some chrome (or other colour / material) straight through exhaust tips? Surely the same noise result and much less expensive?

I'd love some out of polished brass or copper...

Does anyone know the pipe diameter coming out of the back box which the cans attach to? (Saves me crawling around under the car with a measuring tape)

CCCs are great, then you need to go get De Cat (then De Dog) etc

With the new MOT and clamping down of centres... then a decat will need to put back in for the test every year.

You have to ask the question - how many guys will risk their MOT business for this .. after a few get down then it just will not be possible.

Just go for the noisy can.

ACT and others can do the very free flowing catalysts..

Make life easy for yourselves.. after all, it's better to be driving a TVR than to have it sat in a garage waiting for needless work to be done IMHO.

I think you will find CCC's enough. They make the Tuscan sound like a Spitfire on a straffing run. I can't imagine how it would sound with DeCat as well. I suspect ear bleeding and deafness would soon be a problem.

I know theres a few out there with decats and most say it makes such a difference but theres a few that do say it slows down the car. I've just had the engine rebuilt and pulled out all the stops in getting the most out of the S engine. Decatting was an area I looked at and was advised that it will slow the car. The engine is designed to run with cats and any altrerations like this or porting will actually slow you down.
The noise is something else. Why go so loud? Its a lot more enjoyable driving something that sounds like it does from standard and for the extra impact of pops and bangs the CCC's finish it off fantastically.
Its each to their own and thats the great thing about TVR's cos there's none the same.
On top of this you can also be exempt from all track days.

That is unless you also get the TVR Power chip which increases fuelling then power is up not down.
