Tuscan tax band.

Neither actually. All TVR's are Private/Light Goods and are therefore taxed at £175 per year rate. A slight 'mistake' by the government which I'm sure they'll put right eventually! In the meantime enjoy and save!!
hmm - not sure about that - I've just renewed my tax for my Tuscan 2 S - and it was £190?
Yes, the P/LG class of vehicle has increased in the budget by £5.00 Other cars classed as 'Petrol Cars' but not in a 'band' have increased by £15.00. I have just taxed an Elise 111R and they have increased from £190 to £205 for 12 months. If your Tuscan is P/LG then it should have been charged at £180 for the year now. I registered and taxed a new Tuscan yesterday, just before the budget! and this was £175 for 12 months. Hope this helps!
Just phoned the DVLA...apparantly it's because mine was Registerd 1st April 2006...I assume the Hexham car was an older Tuscan...Richards car I think is March 2006 before the last budget which means it should be £180....Don't understand why The Surveyors is not like mine...Where do you tax cars in Hexham...are you sure they're not getting it wrong.
By the way...The lady at the DVLA said as of Midnight my tax would be £300....Glad I did it online on the 15th

Now i'm confused too, or just plain lucky.... My car's also 1st April 06, and i did my renewal direct on the DVLA website. On the V11 application form under Engine capacity / CO2 it says 3996cc only, no indication of CO2 levels, and under the Tax Class it says Private Light Goods (PLG).
If you go on the DVLA website PLG vehicles over 1,549cc are now £180 (what i've paid), but band G cars (CO2 over 225) is £300. The banding only applies to type approved vehicles within category M1 of Annex II to Council Directive 70/156/EEC (whatever that is!!) which have been registered to show CO2 emmisions. I think this is where the PLG classification for non-type approved vehicles comes in. TVR aren't type approved which is why they don't have to have air bags etc...
You shouldn't have to pay the £300 rate for your Tuscan. May be woth a call to the DVLA?

I bought a tax disc for a 2002 Tuscan and a one for a 2002 Tamora, last September. Both were classed as PLG and both cost £175.
According to the DVLA site I'd have thought they were both band F (£195 then I think, now £210) being resistered after April 2001 but it looks like the exemption mentioned above is correct.
Things look good.

Must be because mine's Red......I suspect it's something to do with date of manufacture rather than registration
Its your CO2 emissions all the other tivs seem to be listed as 0g/km you have 405g/km listed on yours. Our Cerb is listed as 0g/km so we only pay £180 a year.
I'm getting more fed up with this...just checked a car I know to have come off the production line 2 weeks after mine ...it's also an 'S' Targa Indigo Cascade and his tax is still showing £180 and due , but he's not paid it yet. Only thing was his went on to the line before mine and was delayed for paint, so it's paperwork probably started before mine.
The question is why did TVR tell them my CO2 and everyone else is zero ???? Did they only test a Tuscan (what about Sags) and was mine the only one tested???
I don't think it will do my resale value any good being the only TVR to pay £400 Car Tax....Although I suppose it makes it even more unique than it already is.......
